15/12/2020 – tragedy, darkness

“The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.” (Gen. 8:5). Noach looked out of the Ark and the first sign that the tragedy of the Flood was completed was in the subsidence of the waters of judgement.

“The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the Priest, with certain heads of fathers’ houses, after their fathers’ houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart, and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.” (Ezra 10:16). Ezra and the other leaders had to cleanse the Temple and remove all the foreign wives that were the subject of sinful unions with the Yisra`elite men.

“It happened when Yerushalayim was taken, (in the ninth year of Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah, in the tenth month, came Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel and all his army against Yerushalayim, and besieged it;” (Jer. 39:1). The siege ended in the destruction of the Temple and the captivity of the people of Yehuda.

This month starts at the end of Hanukkah and signifies the darkest month.

Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens. Let them praise the name of Yahuah, For He commanded, and they were created. He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away.” (Psa. 148:1-6).
