Shabbat Shalom!
Psalm 145:11-22
145:11) All your works will give thanks to you, Yahuah.
Your holy ones will extol you.
145:12) They will speak of the glory of your kingdom,
And talk about your power;
145:13) To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,
The glory of the majesty of His kingdom.
145:14) Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
145:15) Yahuah upholds all who fall,
And raises up all those who are bowed down.
145:16) The eyes of all wait for you.
You give them their food in due season.
145:17) You open your hand,
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
145:18) Yahuah is righteous in all His ways,
And gracious in all His works.
145:19) Yahuah is near to all those who call on Him,
To all who call on Him in truth.
145:20) He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him.
He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
145:21) Yahuah preserves all those who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
145:22) My mouth will speak the praise of Yahuah.
Let all flesh bless His holy name forever and ever.
A Word
Oh what a glorious day!
The first day of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). Sukkot is a reminder of the time the Isra`elites spent in the wilderness where they had no permanent dwelling. Traditionally, Jews celebrate this week by constructing temporary shelters out of branches and leaves. It was this day that the very presence of Yahuah can down to dwell (tabernacle) with His people and took up residence in the sanctuary of the tabernacle (Exod. 40:34).
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son. They shall call His name ‘Immanu`el’ which is being translated as, ‘`El with us’. (Matt. 1:23). This verse tells us of the birth of Messiah Yahusha. There is no account of Yahusha ever answering to the name Immanu`el. It was not His name, but who He was; `El with us. There are many websites that describe in detail the exact timing of the Master’s birth. It takes into account the birth details of Yochanan the Immerser (John the Baptiser) and the shepherds being in the fields. Sukkot is also called The Time of Our Joy. What can give us greater joy than to celebrate the birth of our Saviour!
HIS BIRTH DAY IS NOT IN DECEMBER. THIS IS A PAGAN FESTIVAL THAT EMPEROR CONSTANTINE USED TO AMMALGUMATE CHRISTIAN AND PAGAN CELEBRATIONS.
On many occasions Yahuah uses the anniversaries of events to foreshadow other great events, and it is so with this first day of Sukkot. The day is a memorial of the first day Yahuah as His Ruach came to dwell amongst His people and a memorial of the birth of Yahusha when Yahuah came to dwell amongst His people in the flesh. It is the belief of ATC that some time in the future, Yahuah as Messiah Yahusha will once again come to dwell on earth with His people. Seven years prior to His return to earth, He will return in the clouds to snatch away all Believers, ushering in the final events of this age.
Beloved, we have not been snatched away today (although there is still time!), so we may look forward to another year in His service. Imagine if you knew that Messiah will return exactly this day next year. How would you spend the time? If you knew for sure, would you not spend the time with unsaved family, friends, colleagues, neighbours telling them of the urgency and explain the Good News to them? Of course you would. Everything else is totally insignificant.
Beloved, you or your family friends, colleagues and neighbours may not see next week, let alone next year. The urgency is that no time at all should be wasted but that the Good News is given to those that do not know and have accepted Yahuah’s salvation, through His Son. Messiah Yahusha.
When Messiah returns to earth, all those who have not accepted the offer of salvation will perish; both physically on this earth and pass away into an eternal perishing of body, soul and spirit. Once He returns, here will be no second chance. Do not put off you seeking His mercy for tomorrow may be too late.
Halleluyah
Ameyn
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahusha so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
If you want to accept Father’s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahusha, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine as Father knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
“Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahusha. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahusha my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you, Father, for making this way back to you.”
Ameyn
Remember, the Judge looks into your heart, mind and future.
In other words, when you say a Believer’s prayer you had better mean it.
If you have honestly said such a prayer as this, and truly renounced the sin in your life and accepted Father’s salvation through Messiah Yahusha, then please drop us an e-mail at FGA to let us know. This not only builds up our faith, it offers an opportunity to prayfully support you. Even if you have Believing friends or family, we at FGA would be privileged to pray for you. Please contact us at ezra710@firstgenerationassembly.com. Having believed and prayed, now please find a local faith-based church to attend. Drop FGA an e-mail so that we can rejoice with you and pray and support you over the coming weeks.
If you have sincerely called out to Father for forgiveness, then eternal life is assured. No more question marks on your eternal life, only a full stop. Salvation does not take away the day-to-day questions of life, nor is it a short-cut away from trials or tribulations. Nevertheless, knowing your eternal life is secure, any temporary trial can be overcome by looking at the completed work of Messiah Yahusha.
All blessings to you.
“A friend loves at all times;
And a brother is born for adversity.” (Prov. 13:3).
Breaking Matzah
Our Saviour welcomes all His Family to join in this memorial. If you have accepted Messiah Yahusha as your Master and Saviour please take the next few moments to seek Father and to ensure that all is right between Him and you and between you and your Brothers and Sisters. If not, please put this right before continuing.
If you have not yet accepted Him into your life, then we encourage you to seek Him while it is still possible, as time is running out. When He returns or if you pass away then it will be too late. Please do not partake of the matzah and wine as in doing so, it gives thanks for the broken body (matzah) and shed blood (wine) for and a witness of salvation.
On the night of the Master’s betrayal, He took the matzah, blessed it and broke it saying ‘This is my Body broken for you; take and eat it as a memorial to Me.’
Bless the matzah saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the Universe, who brings forth matzah from the earth.
Break and eat the matzah (sharing it if within a group setting):
After the meal He took the Cup, blessed it saying ‘This is my Blood poured out for you for the remission of sins; take and drink it as a memorial to me.’
Bless the wine saying: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.
Drink the wine (sharing it if within a group setting):
Thanksgiving prayer: Blessed are you, O Yahuah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who gives us, in Yahusha, all that we will ever need. In your lovingkindness and mercy, you rebuild broken lives. You bless us, in Yahusha, with a perfect blessing. Ameyn.
