Shabbat Shalom!
Psalm 39:1-14
39:1) To the Chief Musician set in the style of Yedutun. A Psalm of David.
39:2) I said, ai???I will watch my ways, so that I do not sin with my tongue.
I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.ai???
39:3) I was mute with silence saying nothing, even from good.
But my pain kept being stirred up.
39:4) My heart was hot within me.
While I meditated, the fire burned.
I spoke with my tongue.
39:5) ai???Yahua, show me my end, what is the measure of my days
Let me know how frail I am.
39:6) Behold, you have made my days handbreaths.
My lifetime is as nothing before you.
Surely every man stands as a breath.ai???Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? Selah
39:7) ai???Surely every man walks like a shadow.
Surely they are busy themselves in vain.
He heaps up and does not know who shall gather.
39:8) Now, Yahua, what do I wait?
My hope is in you.
39:9) Deliver me from all my transgressions.
Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.
39:10) I was mute. I did not open my mouth,
Because you did it.
39:11) Remove your scourge away from me.
I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
39:12) When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity,
You consume his wealth like a moth.
Surely every man is but a breath.ai???Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai??Ai?? Selah
39:13) ai???Hear my prayer, Yahua, and give ear to my cry.
Do not be silent at my tears.
For I am a stranger with you,
A foreigner as all my fathers were.
39:14) Oh spare me, that I may recover strength,
Before I go away and be no more.
The Word
Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai?? Ai??Ai??Feed your faith and starve your doubt.
On the night of my youngest daughterai??i??s twenty-first birthday, she had a party for family and friends. There was plenty of food and laughter. With family, my eldest daughter was having her recent marriage blessed, so the next day was going to be another very busy day. With her friends, there was hardly a care taken for the next day.
As the food was being served during the wedding breakfast, my youngest daughter let out a scream. She had received a text from one of her friends stating that one of the friends had had a motor-cycle accident and was in intensive care, not expecting to last the night.
My daughter and her husband left immediately with my wife and I close behind them, still in our wedding outfits. When we got to the hospital it was not good news. The friend was in an induced coma and on a life support system due to his injuries, especially to his brain. The prognosis was that, if he was to survive, he may well be in a vegative state: it would be best for him to be taken off the life support system and left to slip away.
Under most circumstances, this would be the case. However, this group of friends had grown up together in the church youth group, and were not giving up on him. His family were in the hospital room with many young Believers in corridors and outside the hospital, all praying. After awhile, my wife and I went back to the reception, just in time to quickly finish the meal. My eldest daughter was hosting a buffet party at her home later on. We took some sandwiches and soft drinks down to the group.
We were praying in the hospital room, with his family deciding whether to follow the doctorsai??i?? suggestion to take him of life-support or to wait a while. My wife noticed a very brief movement of his eyes. Drawing the medical staffai??i??s attention to this, my wife explained that any decision must wait. The staff replied that this was impossible due to his induced coma state. Nevertheless, it was enough to convince the family to postpone any decision. He was put into a head halo to isolate his broken neck but had to be kept in a deep coma state.
This was a pivotal moment in my faith. I knew that he would survive and not in a vegative state as his prognosis suggested. It was not my prayers or that of any person nor the quantity of prayers that made the difference.
ai???Now He who made us for this very thing is Yahua, who also gave us the down payment of the Ruach. Being, therefore, always of good courage and knowing that, while we were at home in the body, we are absent from Yahua. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are of good courage, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with Yahua. Therefore, also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.ai??? (2 Cor. 5:5-9).
It was faith!
All the medical experts knew that there was no way that the friend would survive. All their combined years of training and experience assured the family that he was all but gone. This was walking by sight. Hallelu-Yah that the family and friends walked by faith and not by sight. ai???Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, for proof of things not seen. Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to Him, for he who comes to Yahua must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.ai??? (Heb. 11:1,6).
For many months prayers were offered up continually around the clock. My son-in-law went to his friendai??i??s bedside every afternoon after he finished work, reading out aloud Psalms and praying with his friend. Eventually we were all rewarded with our friend coming out of the coma. He would tell us later that he could hear the psalms being read out and knew the support that he had despite his comatose state. Ai??It was still to be many more months before the halo was removed and our friend was allowed home.
Beloved, is there something in your life that has reached a critical state, and all the so called experts have written you off? ai???Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before Yahua. Happy is he who does not judge himself in that which he approves. But he who dobts is condemened if he eats, because it is not of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.ai??? (Rom. 14:22, 23). Have faith and doubt not.
Faith is not like a meal where a person can have a little bit of faith and a little bit of doubt on the same plate. It is more like a set of scales whereby actions are put onto the ai???faithai??i?? pan lowers it at the expense of the ai???doubtai??i?? pan. The contrary is also true that actions put on the ai???doubtai??i?? pan is at the expense of the ai???faithai??i?? pan.
Beloved, where are you putting your actions? Read Hebrews 11:1-40. Noach built the ark, the Patriarchs received their promises, Moshe led the Yisra`elites out of Egypt and so forth. Each one acted upon the promises of Yahua and was not disappointed.
Without being weakened in faith, he [Abraham] did not consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarahai??i??s womb. Yet, looking to the promise of Yahua, he did not waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to Yahua, and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.ai??? (Rom. 4:19-21).
Beloved, this is not a Name-it-and-claim-it theology. It is standing on the promises of Yahua.
Now, there are a vast number of people that are approaching a critical moment in time: their death. Are you one of them? How are you approaching this crisis? It is not going to go away so it is no use sticking your head in the sand.
ai???For Yahua so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.ai??? (John 3:16). Are you going to place your faith in a loving Father who knows you intimately or doubt what Scripture says and believe in the sceptics and mockers who have no personal interest in your eternal well-being?
Even if you are one of these mockers, Father sent His one and only Son to live and die for all Mankind; that includes you. Messiah Yahshua took upon Himself the punishment due to all sinners; if only they believed this fact. His resurrection was the proof that Father accepted His sacrifice on our behalf.
If you want to acceptAi??Fatherai??i??s offer of salvation through Messiah Yahshua, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine asAi??FatherAi??knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.
ai???Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yahshua. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yahshua my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you,Ai??Father, for making this way back to you.ai???Ai??
Ameyn.
Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.
Ameyn.
ai???The lips of the righteous feed many,
But the foolish die for lack of understanding.ai??? (Prov. 10:21).
