Shabbat Shalom!

 

Psalm 106:1-16

106:1) Praise Yehovah! Give thanks to Yehovah, for He is good,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

106:2) Who can utter the mighty acts of Yehovah,

Or fully declare all His praise?

106:3) Blessed are those who keep justice.

Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

106:4) Remember me, Yehovah, with the favour that you show to your people.

Visit me with your yeshu`ah

106:5) That I may see the prosperity of your chosen,

That I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,

That I may glory with your inheritance.

106:6) We have sinned with our fathers.

We have committed iniquity.

We have done wickedly.

106:7) Our fathers did not understand your wonders in Mitzrayim.

They did not remember the multitude of your lovingkindnesses,

But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Sea of Suf.

106:8) Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake,

That He might make His mighty power known.

106:9) He rebuked the Sea of Suf also, and it was dried up;

So He led them through the depths, as through a desert.

106:10) He saved them from the hand of him who hated them,

And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

106:11) The waters covered their adversaries.

There was not one of them left.

106:12) Then they believed His words.

They sang His praise.

106:13) They soon forgot His works.

They did not wait for His counsel,

106:14) But gave in to craving in the desert,

And tested `El in the wasteland.

106:15) He gave them their request,

But sent leanness into their soul.

106:16) They envied Moshe also in the camp,

And Aharon, Yehovah’s set apart one.                                                       Contd.).

 

A Word

There is nothing so pleasant as coming home

My wife and I have just moved house; not for the first time and probably not the last. It is said that moving house is one of the most stressful events in life.

There is usually a reason; moving to a larger house to accommodate a growing family or down-sizing when the family have left. It may be a new job or new schools for the children. Sometimes it is our decision but many times it is out of necessity. Whatever the reason, there needs to be a lot of research done. It starts with a wish list then budget, different areas, schools, amenities, size of house, transport etc. all have to be checked out. Eventually a short list of properties is drawn up and a final choice made. It inevitably results in a compromise being made in one or several areas.

Then comes the big day. All packed up and loaded onto vans. The excitement of opening the front door and putting everything in its place. We have always told our children (now all grown up) that so long as the kettle and television are working and the bed is made up, the rest of the unpacking can wait. Once settled, then comes the re-decorating and maybe some renovation or re-modelling work to overcome some of the compromises that had to be made.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it was not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2). There is one final move to which my wife and I are looking forward. When the Master was talking to His Disciples, He was soon to be leaving them. He was going back to His Father and in doing so, He promised to make ready a place for each and every Believer.

As I mentioned before, sometimes the decision to move is out of necessity, not of our making. Readers/Listeners, there will come a time in all our lives when we have to move; it is called death. It is not out of our choice, but it will happen (if Messiah does not come back first).

Like any move, you should always do your homework. We do not carry out research after we move, but before. The ‘textbook’ that is needed to do this ‘homework’ is called the Bible. It is not within this Word to discuss the accuracy or truthfulness of the Bible. Suffice it to say that the Bible has never and will never be proven false.

There are only two areas to consider; heaven and hell.

The Bible clearly states that after death there will come Judgement, condemnation and punishment based upon the decision made in our lifetime. All will be judged; all will be condemned. Those who, in life have accepted the salvation offered by Yehovah through belief in His Son, Yehshuah will have their punishment taken from them and put upon our Saviour, Messiah Yehshuah.

It is this belief that saves!

Nevertheless, there are those who, in their lifetime, have spurned Yehovah’s grace and offer of salvation will have their punishment taken upon themselves.

Their punishment? Eternity in the house of the damned, Hell to suffer torment forever.

Do the ‘homework and make up your mind soon as the move may come sooner than you expect!

 

Father, we thank you for the power of your Word and that Word was made flesh in Messiah Yahshua so that in believing in His Life, Death and Resurrection we may have eternal life with you.

If you want to accept Father’s offer of salvation through Messiah Yehshuah, you need to ask Him in prayer along these lines. Use your own words but they must be genuine as Father knows our very hearts and nothing is hidden from Him.

“Father, I am a sinner who needs forgiveness through your Son, Messiah Yehshuah. Please forgive me of all my past sins as I accept that, Messiah Yehshuah my Saviour, has taken upon Himself my punishment. By your Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of His sacrifice. Thank you, Father, for making this way back to you.”

And will be at home among the wise.

He who refuses correction despises his own soul,

But he who listens to reproof gets understanding.” (Prov. 15:31, 32).

 

 

Breaking Bread

Our Saviour welcomes all His Family to join in this memorial. If you have accepted Messiah Yehshuah as your Master and Saviour please take the next few moments to seek Father and to ensure that all is right between Him and you and between you and your Brothers and Sisters. If not, please put this right before continuing.

 

If you have not yet accepted Him into your life, then we encourage you to seek Him while it is still possible, as time is running out. When He returns or if you pass away then it will be too late. Please do not partake of the bread and wine as in doing so, it gives thanks for the broken body (bread) and shed blood (wine) for and a witness of salvation.

 

On the night of the Master’s betrayal, He took the bread, blessed it and broke it saying ‘This is my Body broken for you; take and eat it as a memorial to Me.’

Bless the bread saying: Blessed are you, O Yehovah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.

Break and eat the bread (sharing it if within a group setting):

After the meal He took the Cup of Blessing, blessed it saying ‘This is my Blood poured out for you for the remission of sins; take and drink it as a memorial to me.’

Bless the wine saying: Blessed are you, O Yehovah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.

Drink the wine (sharing it if within a group setting):

Thanksgiving prayer: Blessed are you, O Yehovah our `Elohiym, King of the universe, who gives us, in Yehshuah, all that we will ever need. In your lovingkindness and mercy, you rebuild broken lives. You bless us, in Yehshuah, with a perfect blessing. Ameyn.
