Blessed are you, Yahuah Elohiym, King of the universe for you have given the lights in the dome of the sky to divide the day from the night; let them be for signs, seasons, days and years. Blessed are you Yahuah Elohiym, Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Like so many things in Scripture and especially in the Renewed Covenant, there is very little said on important matters. This is because their significance was never in doubt. “So do not let anyone pass judgement on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival, or Rosh-Chodesh (New Moon) or Shabbat” (Col. 2:16). There is no disputing that all Believers are commanded to observe the dietary laws, Festivals and Shabbat, is impossible to exclude the Rosh-Chodesh celebrations. Considering all the Festivals are governed by the specific day in the month, it is vital to acknowledge and celebrate the New Moon that inaugurates the first day of the month.
Traditionally, the months have been given the names associated with the Babylonian exile. FGA does not recognise pagan names, therefore the months in this section will be given their ordinal numbers (first, second etc.). There is nothing wrong with tradition where it does not contradict or supercedes Scripture but must be shunned were it does.
” Also on your days of rejoicing, at your designated times and on Rosh-Chodesh, you are to sound the shofar over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; these will be a reminder before your Elohiym. I am Yahuah your Elohiym” (Num. 10:10). The Festivals and Rosh-Chodesh are a constant reminder of the eternal covenant that Yahuah is our Elohiym and Believers are His people.
